Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Sometimes it is impossible to achieve a flat and smooth abdomen even through diet and exercise. Add pregnancy, large changes in weight, prior surgery, aging, and/or heredity to the situation and this may result in a protuberant, loose, and saggy abdomen. A tummy tuck, otherwise known as an abdominoplasty, removes the excess skin and fat mainly from the lower portion of your abdomen using an incision that is usually hidden within the underwear line. Your belly button will be replaced within the newly tightened skin. If there is a hernia present, this is usually repaired at the same time. The stretched out and often separated underlying muscles are repaired and tightened during the same procedure.
This results in an improved abdominal profile that is smooth, firm, and attractive. Stretch marks may be removed if they reside within the skin below the belly button. Liposuction may be added to the procedure to improve definition to your hips and flanks.
This procedure usually requires one overnight stay at our center. The recovery period is around 2 weeks. The final look will leave you with a more proportionate, slimmer abdomen that will boost your confidence and improve the fit of your clothes.
