Breast Reduction

Large breasts are often uncomfortable and disproportionate. They also may be associated with health problems and self-consciousness. A reduction mammaplasty will decrease the size and improve the breast shape by removing excess skin, fat, and glandular tissue.
Common signs and symptoms include neck, back, and shoulder pain, bra strap discomfort and indentations, skin irritation underneath the breast, breast pain, and difficulty with sports and other activities. Other unwanted findings may be enlarged areolas, stretched skin, and pendulous low hanging breasts.
Breast reduction is accomplished by either incisions on your breast or in some cases with liposuction alone. Your goals in combination with Dr. Yovino’s evaluation will determine the best approach for you. Reduction mammaplasty is often covered by insurance. The results of this procedure are immediate and will continue to improve as you recover. A breast reduction may actually be a boost to your self-confidence and self image.
