Face Lift
A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a procedure to improve the signs of facial aging. These signs include sagging skin and fat, deep creases and wrinkles, and jowls along the jaw line. The result of the procedure is a rested, more youthful and inviting face that looks years younger.
The incisions are hidden within the hairline and inside and around the ear. The excess skin is removed and the tissue is lifted. This is an outpatient procedure for the majority of patients. Swelling and bruising usually become unnoticeable within 10 to 14 days. Sometimes a neck lift is added if there are visible signs of aging in that area. Other procedures that may be performed at the same time include brow lift, eyelid lift, dermal fillers, and/or liposuction. A facelift will not stop the aging process but it will set back the clock.
